Dr. Cristina Carbonell, a native New Yorker, was born and raised in Queens, NY. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors in psychology. During her college years she volunteered at a local veterinary hospital and instantly fell in love with the profession. She decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and attended Cornell University where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

After graduation, she was awarded an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, NY where she developed special interests in soft tissue surgery and endocrinology. Dr. Carbonell is a USDA accredited veterinarian and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, and the Veterinary Medical Association of NYC.

Dr. Carbonell lives in Queens with her husband, son, 2 daughters, and her pug named Samson.
